Covid wedding in St Helens
My first covid wedding oh don’t we all wish we had never heard the bloody word. Along with everyone else the wedding industry has been hit very hard with the effects of Covid but has been left with no support at all from the Government who don’t seem to think the wedding industry is worth saving. Along with the lack of support, they change the rules every five minutes to further frustrate everyone. 30 guests allowed no know 15, you don’t need to wear a mask oh you do now. Jude and Matt were lucky in some ways as they were allowed 30 guests and masks were not compulsory they were from the following week. I was covering the wedding for four hours which included from arrival at the church back to the local club for speeches and drinks no sit down meals were allowed. Don’t get me started lets move to the positives of the day.
Matt turned up at the church with his best man both looking very smart, nice, and early and he was really looking forward to getting married to Jude. We took some pictures in the church gardens and had just finished when the bridesmaids and flower girls turned up in the wedding car. The car then left to pick Jude and her brother up to bring them to the church. I have to give a big shout out to Scott the vicar at the church who allowing with his helpers made the wedding as traditional as possible under the circumstance. Jude looked stunning when she walked down the aisle and Matt shed a few tears when he saw her for the first time in her wedding dress.
After the service was over we went outside to the garden for the family photos and then the guests made their way to the local pub and I got some photos of Jude and Matt on their own and this allowed them to have some time with each other with no one else around. We then went to meet up with all the guests and as for food they hit on a winner 30 portions of fish and chips from the chippy. Winner winner.
All in all it was a great day, Jude and Matt really enjoyed the day, the guest had a great time, we got some lovely images and would like to say a big shout out to all the guests for being so friendly and helpful on the day and thank you for the fish and chiips.
