St Georges Hall Wedding Photography

Melissa and Dan’s wedding was taking place at St Georges Hall in Liverpool. The building built in 1854 had a £23 million pound refurbishment in 2007 and was reopened by Prince Charles. The building is also open to the public and has hosted many amazing events and was recently used in the filming of the hit TV show the Peaky Blinders. In the concert room is the famous Minton floor which has over 30,000 Mosaic tiles. The floor is normally covered but there are times when it will be uncovered for people to view. I have been to the hall many times but this was my first time as a wedding photographer at St Georges Hall.

Melissa was getting ready at the Marriott Hotel which is just across the road from the hall and Dan was getting ready at their home address. I arrived at the hotel nice and early and made my way up to the Bridal Suite. I always like to photograph the details first, e.g. the wedding dress, shoes, jewellery etc. Melissa had got an amazing pair of colourful Sophie Webster shoes with a butterfly on the back. After photographing the details I moved on to photographing the bride, bridesmaids, flower girls and mother of the bride.

Soon it was time for dad to see Melissa in her wedding dress for the first time which is always a lovely photograph. Melissa and her dad were travelling in style with a vintage car from Churchtown wedding cars.

Several tears were shed both by the bride and the groom during the ceremony and after the service was over we photographed the group shots on the steps outside the hall. After this was over the guests made their way back to the hotel and Melissa and Dan got back into the wedding car as we made our way down to the Albert Dock for some quite time pictures (well as quiet as you can at the Albert Dock).

It was then time to head back to the hotel for the wedding breakfast followed by the speeches. The was just a short time and then it was time for the evening reception to begin. After capturing the happy couples first dance and some pictures of the guests dancing it was time to leave.

It was a pleasure to be the wedding photographer at the Marriott Hotel Liverpool and I would like to say thank you to the staff for their help on the day.
